The IAEA Board of Governors, in its resolution adopted at an emergency meeting held on 12 July 2024 at the initiative of Ukraine, condemned the military strike by the russian federation on 8 July 2024 against the National specialized children's hospital "Ohmatdyt" in Kyiv.

The document also supports the IAEA's technical cooperation efforts with Ukraine, including the provision of further assistance to the Ohmatdyt children's hospital and other similar medical facilities to ensure continuity of medical services and strengthen radiation safety and protection measures.

The Board of Governors called on the IAEA Member States to provide political and financial support to Ukraine, in particular by providing the necessary equipment related to nuclear safety and security.

“Ohmatdyt” receives technical assistance from the IAEA in important projects related to radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology.
