On October 26-27, 2021, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine will participate in the international training ConvEx-3, organized by the Incident and Emergency Center of the International Atomic Energy Agency with the participation of 57 countries, 11 international organizations and 37 responsible bodies of the United Arab Emirates.
The purpose of the ConvEx-3 is to assess the response to a nuclear or radiological emergency and to identify areas for improvement in national and international emergency response systems.
Specialists from the SNRIU Information and Crisis Center and the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety will take part in ConvEx-3.
The training is based on the nuclear emergency scenario at the Barakah NPP, UAE.
During the training, a new IAEA communication tool - the Social Media Simulator system will used for the first time. It simulates public interaction on Twitter and Facebook during emergencies.
As a result of participation in ConvEx-3, the SNRIU will develop and implement corrective measures to further improve the emergency preparedness and response system.
