On January 6, 2021, under the chairmanship of Hryhorii PLACHKOV, Chairman - Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine, a meeting was held to consider the readiness of ZNPP Unit 5 for commissioning after scheduled preventive repairs with overloading of the reactor core and implementation of a set of measures to extend operation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of NNEGC Energoatom, specialists of ZNPP, SNRIU and SSTC NRS.
Based on the information of NNEGC Energoatom, the meeting noted:
- issuance of the EA license №001090 for the right to implement activities at the stage of the life cycle "operation of the nuclear installation" of the power unit №5 of Zaporizhzhia NPP 05.01.2021 after the implementation of measures to extend its service life;
- implementation in physical volumes of the planned measures of the Comprehensive (consolidated) program to increase the level of safety of nuclear power units, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 7, 2011. for №1270;
- performance in the planned volumes of works on modernization of the equipment of systems important for safety, works on repair and tests are completed.
Following the meeting of the SNRIU, a decision was made to issue a separate written permit for the first commissioning of the Zaporizhzhia NPP's nuclear power plant № 5 after the implementation of measures to extend its service life.
