On 10 September the SNRCU Chairperson Olena Mykolaichuk chaired a meeting on safety issues related to long-term operation of the Rivne NPP Units 1 and 2. The meeting was attended by top-rank managers of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine and the operating organization NAEK “Energoatom”.
Agenda of the meeting comprised a number of organizational and technical issues:
- Establishment of the working group on licensing of the Units 1 and 2;
- Current state of activities on long-term operation of the Units 1 and 2;
- Preparation to the SNRCU Board’s session on long-term operation of the Unit 1;
- Thermal annealing of welding seam of reactor vessel of the Unit 1;
- Current state of implementation at Unit 2 of the Concept for Safety Improvement of Operating NPPs approved by the government of
It was decided to conduct such meeting every two weeks.
