Smoke at ChNPP-3 Caused by Smoking in Wrong Place

Yesterday at 15:57, shift supervisor of ChNPP informed the SNRIU on smoke in rooms 509 and 513 of ChNPP-3.
At 16:00, the smoke was removed by State Emergency Service staff.
The smoke was caused by smoking in the wrong place by an unknown person. Internal investigation is ongoing and additional check of ChNPP fire safety arrangements was initiated.
Currently, there is no nuclear fuel in ChNPP-3 and there is no process equipment in the rooms where smoke was detected. The radiation background on ChNPP site remains unchanged.
