In this regard, SNRIU will work to bring its own standards into line with the Convention on Nuclear Safety, Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management, Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and Nuclear Facilities, Directives 2011/70/EURATOM and 2014/87/EURATOM, and Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Energy Partnership between Ukraine and the European Union together with the European Atomic Energy Community. According to the requirements of these documents, the regulator must have special status of a state collegial executive body. 

 The regulator with special status is an international practice that promotes state regulation for the safety of nuclear energy, taking into account economic, political, and financial independence in decision-making and effective regulation of entities dealing with the use of nuclear energy, and taking into account peculiarities of state regulation in this area, which are due to specifics of the nuclear industry. 

 Respective proposals on the draft lawmaking plan of the Ukrainian Parliament for 2022 were sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
