An IAEA mission has begun in the exclusion zone

The IAEA's mission to nuclear power facilities in the Exclusion Zone has begun to assess their ability to function safely after the liberation of Russian invaders.
IAEA will discuss with experts the relevant aspects of nuclear and radiation safety, physical protection, emergency preparedness.
The mission will check the availability of relevant technical experts on the safety of nuclear materials, radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
At the same time, IAEA inspectors are inspecting the Chornobyl NPP for undeclared nuclear material in accordance with the Agreement on the Application of Safeguards in Relation to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
