On 1 November 2017, in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 757-r, Hryhorii Plachkov the Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine proceeded to fulfilling his duties.

Until now, he was Director of the Diractorate for Nuclear Energy and Atomic Industry of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine. On this position, he was involved in the development of Ukraine’s nuclear energy; in particular, he dealt with the construction of the centralized storage facility for spent nuclear fuel in the Chornobyl exclusion zone. Before that, Hryhorii Plachkov worked as Deputy Director for Investments and Prospective Development at the NNEGC “Energoatom”.

“The SNRIU team is working to ensure nuclear and radiation safety of our state. This mission is extremely important and responsible.
