Valentin Geiko - The head of the shift at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, for the past 6 days he has been in charge of the security of the nuclear facilities at the Russian military-occupied plant. He can't hand over his shift and can't leave his post, he stays at his workplace just as his colleagues did at the time of the biggest nuclear accident in 1986.
Nuclear scientists of Ukraine believe that the situation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant will return to a controlled condition and all participants of the events (on both sides) will be able to share their impressions of the forced joint stay at the world's most prominent nuclear facility.
Dear Valentine, we believe in your diligence, professional initiative and commitment to the priority of safety for any " initial event".
You make the entire professional community in Ukraine proud, your name was learned this week by all on-duty employees of IAEA Incident and Emergency Center, and it is from you that they receive reliable information about the safety status of Chernobyl NPP nuclear installations.
The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine congratulates you on your jubilee birthday! We wish you accept this challenge and come back alive and healthy. We believe in you and encourage the Russian soldiers to return home as well.
