From November 9 to 13, 2020, the SNRIU Commission conducted a comprehensive inspection of Zaporizhzhya NPP SE (NNEGC «Energoatom») to ensure long-term operation of Unit № 5 at power capacity levels.

Based on the results of its work, the Commission concluded that the documents provided by NNEGC «Energoatom» (Zaporizhzhya NPP) for changes (renewal) of the EC series license №000196 dated August 10, 2004 for the right to carry out activities at the life cycle stage «operation» of the Zaporizhzhya NPP  nuclear unit № 5 regarding the readiness of NNEGC «Energoatom» to carry out activities at the life cycle stage of operation of the Zaporizhzhya NPP nuclear unit № 5 during long-term operation are reliable and reflect the actual state of affairs.

Also, at the time of the inspection it was established that NNEGC “Energoatom” (SE “Zaporizhzhya NPP”) has not completed the implementation of the planned “Program of preparation of Unit № 5 of ZNPP for long-term operation”, in particular:

- measures of the Labor Code;

- measures aimed at eliminating / compensating for deviations from the requirements of the NPA;

- approval of the Report on periodic safety reassessment;

- approval of the decision to extend the service life of the diesel generator and other equipment of systems important for safety;

- measures for equipment qualification and seismic assessment of equipment of pipelines, structures and building structures, as well as fire-fighting measures.

The Commission drew up an Inspection Report on the implementation of measures to prepare Unit № 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP for long-term operation and submitted it to the management of Zaporizhzhya NPP.
